When should I expect new contract to take effect

Hi

I took out a new contract last Friday. When should I expect it to take effect?

Dave

Don't quote me on this, but from mine and referrals experience, it appears that contract renewals take effect from the end of your current one these days.

Did you receive confirmation of the new contract, either by email or a 'question' on your account - if so that should have included an 'effective from' date.

Re: When should I expect new contract to take effect

I think that it depends on how the agent has set it up, it could well be the next billing date, especially is it's more expensive than the current deal! I never negotiate a new contract until I have just entered the final month of my current one.

No the question that was raised just had all the details that we had agreed including the 14 day cooling off period, and it is a "product change" so I think must commence before my present cotract ends. The only change is in the monthly payment.

@Baldrick1 You could be correct, both mine and my refferals' were due within about a 3 week window, but we still got notification of the start date of the new contract.

OK, but the agent should have advised when it was to take effect from. When is your billing date?

End of the month and it is 99p less than my present contract.

In that case, hold fire until then.

@jab1

Yes, but I will ask for confirmation that it will happen before then

Cheers

Re: When should I expect new contract to take effect

Phoned a few hours ago and got through to a very helpful CS woman who confirmed via a ticket that it would start on my next billing date.
