Very confusing first bill

I signed up to Plusnet recently, my start date was 5th July.
I dont use a home phone but apparently my phone was ready to use from 5th July, but unfortunately my fibre broadband wasnt active until the 10th July.
My contract is a 12 month contract priced at £22.99, l paid my first payment before my service was live.
Ive just had my first bill and it says my monthly charges are £27.68???
Whats going on, any idea?
Surely l should have had a reduction for a few days without broadband, not an increase of £4.69 in my first month!!
