VAT 20%

VAT has gone up now from 17.5 to 20%, how soon can I expect (or all of us expect) our bills to raise, will some accounts not be paying more?  Hopefully this is the right section for this.

Re: VAT 20%

I believe it's not due to go up until January 2011?

Re: VAT 20%

Oh yeah, must have missed that bit or it wasn't showing on the BBC when I wrote this.  So an increase of 2.5% come January?

No.
The precise date is Jan 4th so presumably from invoices raised on or after that date.
The actual VAT increase is from 17.5% to 20% so price rises (of relevant goods and services) SHOULD be relatively from 117.5 to 120, i.e roughly 2.1% net.

Re: VAT 20%

Yes, a 2.1% increase applied from 4th January.  Maybe PN will absorb the increase Undecided

Re: VAT 20%

IIRC when VAT went down to 15% some accounts were put down to 15% new accounts were brought in at a price point where when VAT went back up their prices remained the same.  I can't see PN absorbing the increase in VAT on this many accounts, maybe introduce a new breed of accounts at 20% with the option of dropping it to 17.5% at a later date?

Re: VAT 20%

Ultimately we'll announce any changes nearer the time.
It would be somewhat foolish of me to say that we'll definitely do something that's still 6 months away Smiley

Re: VAT 20%

i wouldnt expect PN to absorb the costs.
Id expect them to put the service up the quid or so inline with the increase.
Hell, the increase could be used to pay for more marketing  Roll_eyes Or even better, some more network capacity  Tongue
