Unable to login to Portal (04/01/2017)

Last night a holding page was served saying that the portal was undergoing maintenance.
This morning although normal login prompts are showing, I am unable to login, with "invalid username or password" being returned.
Nothing's changed at my end.
I can't "raise a ticket" of course as I can't login.
Yes, I have cleared cache and cookies and all that stuff.
(Also very annoying is that I can't login to the community using my old community login/passwd combination any more as that doesn't seem to be recognised either, and a password reset request hasn't resulted in a reset email. So I've had to make another community login just to post this)

I'm suddenly having problems with sending emails as well. Is this a related issue?

But I thought the days when PN changed things and then sent them live without testing them properly (or at all) were long gone

[Still, I fixed the community login problem. For some bizarre reason I had the email set to something other than a PN address.]

We're still working with our engineering teams to resolve the issues. Unfortunately I cannot provide an ERT at the moment but it's being worked on as we speak. Please bear with us.

Just logged in with no problem, reboot router and try again.
