Further to my previous response, you should be able to make a payment online for just the outstanding call charges on the account as I've credited the erroneous payment off the account.
If you let me know once you've done this I'll make sure the account closure is finalised for you.

Sorry I forgot to come back to you on that. When I spoke to our billing team about this the other day, they weren't able to close the account right then, but they did take action to ensure no further payments would be taken.
It looks like the account was then closed this morning.

Yep - I got a bunch of emails through this morning cancelling things like Plusnet protect etc, and one of them says my cancellation request will be actioned on 26/09 - ie a week away.
I take it that will be the final actual cancellation of the account?

Apologies for any confusion that caused. I believe that will have been auto-generated but then the account was closed manually shortly after.

Although I'm surprised at the amount of time it took in the end, I realise that due to the way your system works there wasn't much you could do to speed things up, and all's well that end's well.
