Talk Evenings & Weekends Line Rent charge - £1 increase

This month my Talk Evenings & Weekends Line Rent charge has changed from £11.99 to £12.99.  Was this increased announced? I can't remember receiving anything.  Would I be right in thinking that as I'm past my original 12-month period, I could lower my bill by asking for a price match with the competitors?  I'm currently on Plusnet value at £6.49 + Talk Evenings & Weekends Line Rent  at £11.99/£12.99.  Postcode KY11 1JJ.
