Switching to another provider. Can I keep plusnet e-mail?

I'm switching to BT Broadband ( I want to keep my landline with the digital switchover.)

Can I keep my plusnet e-mail?   It's been migrated to Greenby, so hoping I will be given the option to just pay yearly but e-mail from plusnet says I will loose access to webmail.

Changing the e-maill address of everything I've registered with is going to be a pain, and I'm sure to miss something

Thanks

Re: Switching to another provider. Can I keep plusnet e-mail?

I believe that once you are with Greenby you can continue to use the email (with the yearly payment) with any ISP.

Best of luck with the BT Broadband move.

I've had a bit of a nightmare trying to get this done for a family member.

If you don't have both your phoneline and broadband from Plusnet I strongly recommend phoning BT to lessen the chance of it going wrong.

I am the satisfied customer....

but e-mail from plusnet says I will loose access to webmail.

That's almost certainly a 'standard' email, constructed before the migration to Greenby was implemented. As @markhawkin says, if you've already been migrated , then your email facility has been separated from your Plusnet account. Migrating to another broadband supplier will close your PLusnet account and would normally destroy the email component but since the email is now separate , it won't be affected.

Re: Switching to another provider. Can I keep plusnet e-mail?

A note of caution: currently migrated plus.com email services are still using native Plusnet servers for outbound mail.  If an account is ceased, that outbound capability will be terminated.  Outbound server settings might need to be changed if the account termination precedes the alteration of Plusnet’s SMTP server.

What would the outgoing settings need to be changed to so that closure of their plusnet broadband (thinking those with BT landline who may want to switch or whos broadband is inadvertantly ceased) doesnt stop their plusnet migrated to greenby email service?

Hi @njay

Can you give us a bit more information on what you mean?

If your Plusnet account is cancelled prior to migrating to Greenby, the associated email would also be closed.

My post was to Townman's a note of caution.

To clarify if someone has had their email migrated to greenby and then they leave plusnet will the outgoing email still work?
