Nope, taking my mobile number out still results in the same four useless options.

@jab1   Seems to depend on where in the country you are.

In London at the moment and I get if you are already with Plusnet press 1, or if you are thinking of joining press 2.

Regional based IVR maybe!!

Gawd knows, @Mustrum . I'll give it 24 hours and see if calling again just gives me the simple option 1/option 2, or the 4 options again, now that I have 'unlinked' my mobile number.

@Windings

Hi Joe, some great responses, I’ll update the phone number in my stock response.

Re: Signing up to plusnet, £3 price rise for the off???

12 hours later, and it appears PN still think I am a customer, as calling either the 0800 or 0330 number, I still get the four options - no way can I contact sales by phone.

Re: Signing up to plusnet, £3 price rise for the off???

Not needing to phone plusnet for nearly 5 years I gave 0800 432 0080 from the mobile phone on my account.

Screenshot_20250301-075221.png

Thanks to ' Google Direct my phone' for the call transcript.

Using a phone not registered i was presented with the two options.

Wrongly a decision has been made that existing customers can not speak to COTS/Sales directly on the phone, as I previously posted I would have used option 4 as to me that would be the nearest option to speak to COT, but a new customer may not think that way.

Interesting, @Dan_the_Van . As I said though - my mobile has been deleted from account - BUT - calling either of the numbers still directs me to your displayed transcript. If the phone is not linked to the account, it shouldn't.

Re: Signing up to plusnet, £3 price rise for the off???

@jab1

I'd image the phone system client lookup list is not regularly synced with the members centre phone numbers, which why when @pint phoned in it recognise the number as they were once a customer so only offered the options for current customers.

What needs adding

5 "If you would like to to talk to Customer Options Team or for anything else"

@Dan_the_Van Option 5 would be the simple way, but...

I have confirmation that if you were to sign up today, the cpi increase would be applied. However... from the 1st of march (tomorrow), Any new sign ups for brand new accounts do not get this cpi increase.

This is confirmed by this article - ISPreview : ISPs BT, EE, Plusnet and Vodafone Tweak UK Broadband Pricing Policies

@jab1

Maybe try withholding your number?

Just a thought.

Re: Signing up to plusnet, £3 price rise for the off???

Managed to sign up to FTTP yesterday, surprised at how long the installation will take ( it gave a date for the 21st of march) which is a bit of pain but there doesnt seem to be anything that can be done on that front.

Compared to the last time i signed on with plusnet the webspace seems to not have been issued and no new email service has been offered -although i knew about that

For comparison, here's the welcome email from 2004 Before the BT acquisition:

Thank you for choosing to move your ADSL account to PlusNet.

We received your request for ADSL migration. Your account will be
processed as soon as possible with the information you provided as part
of the signup process.

Please note that your migration date can be affected by BT and your
previous ISP.

Your PlusNet website address: http://www.username.plus.com

=======================

The ADSL account charges are not due until the migration has been
completed. Just the migration charge is required at this stage. It is
important that we are able to take this admin fee; otherwise the
transfer of your service will be delayed.

Remember, you do not have to wait for the migration to be completed to
use many of the great features of your account.

Your line speed

Here's all the speed details you need to know.
Full Fibre 145 has an average speed of 145Mb download and 30Mb upload.
At peak times, we estimate that you'll get the following speeds on your line:
Download: 145 - 160Mb
Upload: 27 - 30Mb
Minimum Guaranteed Speed: 80Mb

Your Minimum Guaranteed Speed is an important number, find out more about what it means in our guide.

Technology Type: Your broadband is Full Fibre broadband, to learn more about your broadband technology you can visit Broadband package guide | Help | Plusnet

Some additional estimates:
Maximum download speed: 160Mb, Maximum upload speed: 30Mb, Minimum upload speed: 27Mb
The speeds above are based on data provided by our supplier. Your actual speed may vary and there are a number of things that may affect your broadband speed such as the distance you are from the exchange, phone wiring to and in your home, how busy the Internet and our network are and if you're using multiple devices at the same time – find out why your speeds can vary.
If your download speed is lower than the minimum guaranteed speed and your broadband has been up and running for 14 days or more:
1. Take a look at our tips to help improve your broadband speed

2. If that doesn't help, use our faults checker

3. If you've followed the above two steps and we can't consistently provide a download speed equal to or better than the minimum guaranteed speed, you should contact our support team and we'll work with you to try and get the matter resolved. If the fault can't be resolved within at least 30 days, you'll be able to end your contract without paying an early termination charge.
You can find more information about your minimum guaranteed speed, and the Voluntary Speed code of Practice, which Plusnet are signatories to, on our website.

Re: Signing up to plusnet, £3 price rise for the off???

Hiya, about to renew my contract for another 18 months. The payment summary says I'll pay £24.50 until 31.3.25 when it increases by £3, but the contract states my cost increases every March 31 by £3, which would put my monthly payments up to £27.50 right away. Can you clarify for me please? Keen to sign up this weekends to renew my contract but don't feel completely comfortable as the contract wording is confusing. Many thanks, Iain
