Signing up to plusnet, £3 price rise for the off???

Im currently with Now Broadband with a contract ( minimum term) set to end soon and a daft renewal cost from Now of just over £50 for FTTC

So a few years back I was with Plusnet for many years, but after a quick look through I was surprised to see a £3 rise from the end of march, would that mean that they will increase the price from the off and not offer the advertised price?

Re: Signing up to plusnet, £3 price rise for the off???

The advertised prices for new customers are what they are with the sceptre of 31st March increases.

I think in previous years users joining close to the price change date might not get the increases.

Similarly post 31st March new prices might not increase by £3. New customer promotions are highly variable!! Long gone are the days when the price for a service is a know fixed value.

So in other words if you  sign up early March then you wont get the advertised price as they will only offer this for the first three weeks?

You will get the advertised price subject to the clearly advised 31st March price increase. Talking to sales can be rewarding.

Contact Customer Options Team (aka COTS)

COTs is the place to go to if you want to find out anything to do with your contract in respect of leaving, renewing or simply enquiring about early termination charges (ETCs). They have their own number and tend to answer quicker than the general customer service number.

Direct dial numbers

  • 0800 013 2632 or 0800 079 1133(from within the UK)
  • +44 330 123 9197 (from abroad)
  • Available...
    • 8am - 8pm Monday to Friday
    • 9am - 7pm Saturday
    • 9am - 6pm Sunday

@Townman You know that, I know that, but anyone who doesn't rings the advertised 0330 number and then gets stone-walled - I know because I've just tried it following @pint 's comment above.

Maybe moving cound mean moving to us, I would have used that option

It did not help with the original advice was to phone 'Sales' when actually should have been COT's

Re: Signing up to plusnet, £3 price rise for the off???

If you put 'how to contact Plusnet Sales' in a search engine, you are directed to Twitter/X or the 0330 123 9123 number - which will not connect you.

Re: Signing up to plusnet, £3 price rise for the off???

@pint I've done a little digging into your query and have personally spoke to our customer options team for you.

I have confirmation that if you were to sign up today, the cpi increase would be applied. However... from the 1st of march (tomorrow), Any new sign ups for brand new accounts do not get this cpi increase.

To answer your other query of calling us and not being able to find the correct option for the sales team, it is a bit confusing especially if you dont currently have an account with us. Ultimately mashing buttons and getting through to any department would get you through to our sales team as the advisor would simply be able to warm transfer you through.

I am going to raise this with my superiors though as the automated option system doesn't seem very 'new customer' friendly according to the recent posts from this thread as @jab1 has also tried to find the correct path.

Just to be clear as well, Sales and 'COT' are not separate departments, All COT advisors are Sales advisors.

Hope i've been some help here

All the best

@Windings Surely there should be an option in the IVR message to to contact Sales/COT - currently there isn't, so people like me, who don't use (anti)social media have no way of contacting a live person?

@pint @jab1 Call this number 0800 432 0080 and press 2 and it takes you straight to a Sales/COT advisor.

I searched 'plusnet sales number' and this is the first number that came up. 2 simple options of 'are you an existing member' or 'are you new'.

Re: Signing up to plusnet, £3 price rise for the off???

I'm baffled too, @Windings - if I call that number, I get the same options as on the 0330 number. The only thing I can think is that I am a legacy 'mail only' customer, and my account ma still have my mobile number associated with it - I'll check, delete and try again.
