Hi
I set up a residential dialup account for a customer of mine because she cannot get broadband and she wanted a fixed price dialup product. I picked plusnet anytime lite by clicking the link here and signed her up for the account - http://portal.plus.net/residential/dialup/
She used it happily for a week but then decided to upgrade to the anytime standard because she was using it more than she thought. I couldnt find a way to do this online so i raised a question but the reply has frankly left me baffled:
Dear Mrs
Thank you for contacting Plusnet Customer Support.
The reason you are not able to change your product is because we no longer offer a dial up service. However, we will be able to change the product to Anytime Standard.
Please advise if you wish to proceed, please respond to this query. Please note that the package will change on the next billing date after your confirmation. Your billing date is on the 15th of each month.
Kind regards,
I dont quite see what I signed up for if a dialup service is no longer offered!
Thanks

Yes it does but the customer service rep said she can change the account to ANYTIME standard - not just standard.
And when I signed up I quite clearly signed up for anytime lite at 4.99 a month.

Whatever is the correct one, thank you for bringing this up. I started out using Anytime Lite years ago for the price of £4.99 per month. I haven't looked recently but I had the impression that dialup had been stopped - in fact a staff member said as much to me fairly recently.
I am glad that this is still offered as it is a good starter for people who are not sure about computers and internet so can opt out easily and quickly if they want to. It is a shame that she cannot get broadband though.

We don't actively sell the dial up products any more but signup is possible, for now. We can certainly change products for any existing customer, please let us know the ticket number and we'll get this actioned for you.
