Renewing - how to order a new router

I've just had a renewal through which I want to accept (been with Plusnet for years now and been happy) but we need to get a new router. I want to have the Hub 2 as we're running off the old one sent to us and it's dropping out on wi-fi constantly now, and if anyone goes near it with a 4G phone...forget about it.

However I can't see a way to request a new router as part of my renewal - is that an option at all?

We've currently got the Hub 1 but performance has declined rapidly over the past 12-18m, cutting out wi-fi (not broadband, that's steady, just the wi-fi signal) whenever the microwave is used, a 4G mobile gets near it and it no longer reaches a room in the house (which it always used to). So hoping I can get an upgraded Hub 2 as part of the renewal.

@kentmonkey

I have just renewed on line and was offered a Hub2 for the postage cost of 36.99. You should have the same offer made to you.

@agedgopher

Methinks it might be £6.99

Yes, me thinks 36 came around by (*not holding shift key whilst pressing 3*).

So £6, became 36 🙂

Re: Renewing - how to order a new router

Weirdly I'm not getting this.

If I choose the 12m contract version I get the offer for £6.99 to have a Hub 2.

If I choose the 18m contract version (which I'm happy to commit to) I don't get the offer. And it's 25p more expensive a month.

I'd rather contract for 18m so I don't have to recontract again in a new year, but with that option I'm getting no option to add a Hub 2.

Yep @kentmonkey that doesn't make sense.
Sounds like it is some kind of weird quirk in their system.

Hopefully a member of staff can put this through manually.
After all I am sure PlusNet would rather you take out an 18 month contract than a 12. 🙂

@kentmonkey

suggest you call Customer Options Team on 0800 013 2632 over the weekend as they should be able to help you and maybe offer a better price.

You can also have a 24 month contract if you wish by calling

HTH.

Re: Renewing - how to order a new router

@Dan_the_Van I can't this weekend as I'm not available during the hours the phone lines are open this weekend, but I'll try next week unless someone can resolve on here.

Would also be happy to look into contracting for 24m. To be honest I've never had bad service, everyone I've ever spoken to has been really helpful (on here and on the phones) so I'm happy to commit to them.

Re: Renewing - how to order a new router

Apologies everyone, that will teach me to look before I post. The offer was definitely £6.99 postage and a free Hub2.

Lesson leaned.
