Renewal cost

Good morning all.

We have had quite a strained relationship with PN this year, not their fault but they were in the firing line. Openreach could not get their act together and we were without landline/broadband for 40 days!. I will admit that the PN agents we spoke to were sympathetic plus they soon became aware we relied 100% on the phone and broadband due to still shielding because of health. When we eventually got back our line you can imagine the emails etc waiting for us. One of us was still unwell  and we slowly worked our way through emails, at one stage realising our car insurance had run out (email renewal notice), ADT contact had finished etc. We spotted emails from PN but just put them into PN folder, thinking they were automated emails.(bills).

It was not until we received Mays bill and open it we realised what we were paying - ouch. Checking back on unopened emails we found one stating they have noted that someone may be vulnerable and another from the end of March informing us that the contract ends 1st May - offering 18 months at £21.95 plus anytime calls, of course we missed this, with all that was going on.

Called PN to renew on the 3rd May, only to find offer not available no more and that the cheapest would be 37.27 including anytime calls, basically around £10.00 more than we were paying. We were expecting around £5 more at the most.

Only later found a few other suppliers would have been around £33 but a Now 'Fab Fibre' for £21 including anytime calls for 12 months was the cheapest.

Does loyalty not count any more. Sorry for the rant.

Stay safe

Re: Renewal cost

Fix

@johnb8

If you only renewed yesterday then you are in the cooling off period and can cancel free of charge.

I would ring the Customer Options Team on 0800 013 2632, tell them that you are not happy, about the alternative offers and see what they will do for you.

Re: Renewal cost

Hi

Did as you suggested and called the Options Team on the number you supplied. Spoke to Rick in the Sheffield office, explained all the issues and after a little wait we had had saved £7.52!! In fact less than £2 more than old contract and assume the increase was the usual March CPI lift.

Thank you for the suggestion and perhaps loyalty does exist after all.

Stay safe
