Price increasing means can end contract mid term

All over my plus.net account, I see a message

"prices will be increasing by £1 from 5th June"

Having searched here for an answer I found a thread in which says that in case of price change you can break a fixed term contract without penalty. Which is what I would expect [legal requirement?]

Does anyone know if that's true for this 2018 price rise?

In thread:

https://community.plus.net/t5/My-Account-Billing/Overcharged-on-my-last-2-monthly-bills/m-p/1464614

User Gandalf/plusnet says:

"We may make changes to prices, content and terms at any time during your contract. We'll tell you about important changes before they happen and if a change is detrimental you'll be able to end your contract without any fees.

We sent you an e-mail as per this service notice allowing you to leave your contract penalty free if you contacted us within 30 days upon receipt."

Yes, it is still valid to say that.

As @dvorak has said, that's correct.

If you're wanting to look at a new deal we'll be happy to arrange a call back?

Re: Price increasing means can end contract mid term

Thanks for the answers. What is the time limit for ending or changing the contract based on this price rise? Our internet connection is back but we will wait and see if it stays back until we decide what to do. Trust is lost quickly. Also TO SEE IF THERE'S anY more info on what happened.
