Poor retention offer - Have Plusnet turning one of those companies now?

Yes, I will give CS a ring etc, but when did Plusnet start being the company play hardball with at renewal time?

Got 500 fibre, had it years.  Never had any issues renewing, they've always offered a good / competitive renewal.

But this time around Plusnet renewal is a whopping £37 month!!

Brand new Plusnet customers - £33 (and £75 reward card)

Vodafone £31 (+£90 reward card)

Hell, Sky are offering me £27/month as I have TV (but they don't usually play nicely with third party routers (ubiquiti in this case)).

Anyway, I just want to get a rant off my chest.

On the phone, there is always room for wriggle ... "Do you want some bonus for the time YOU have spent on this call ... or no sales bonus at all?  So just what is your best deal today please?".

In times past, I have found saying "I need to go away and think about this..." and calling back in a few days, often got a better price.  Unfortunately very little in life these days has a "fixed" price, it is all largely negotiable, the negotiation being between the price you end up paying and the sales bonus received by the sales person.
