Would it not be easier to add comment here, and ask the staff to create a ticket pointing to the old one.
IIRC - once a ticket is closed, its closed.

if you 'cant see it' they normally hide older ones, you have to select the filter to pull up any old ticket numbers..
click go and the ticket IDs should appear underneath - at which point you can 'view' the closed ticket.
