Oh No! My Plusnet Account got suspended! - NOT!

I just received an e-mail to say that my PlusNet account got suspended due to a security issue. The following is the from address and details:

From:  plusnet account no.24541 < [Removed]>

Subject:  Plusnet Security Issue. no.90907547-68101

Its obviously fake. I mean, what is account no.24521 for a start?

PLEASE DO NOT CLICK OR RESPOND TO ANY LINKS.

However I did want to raise awareness as this might sound a little "alarmist" than the previous Boots e-mails.

As previously, the URLs in the links within the e-mail go to unknown resources on Amazon AWS which are likely malicious. My apologies to Ken Bailey whom I do not know or have any connection with him, but the address is no doubt spoofed as they had been in the previous Boots e-mails.

@Batphone That kind of garbage has been around in various forms for years, and is so obviously fake no sane individual would do anything more than delete it.

I have just received the same garbage - looks like < [Removed]>'s account has been hacked.

It may be garbage, but it looks official enough for many people to click on the link.

@philh01 It may just be me, but if I get an unexpected email, I always check the source (actual sender) before reading the content, and in this case, it is an obvious spam.
