New customer?

Just for information.
What determines whether a person is a new customer? Is it the name on the account, or, the line not already being connected to Plusnet?

Re: New customer?

Good question, we class every new activation (whether on a new account or an old customer returning) or a new service being migrated to us as a new customer.

Re: New customer?

So if a line is already with you, but the account holder changed, this is not deemed as being a new customer? By this I mean if somebody came along and signed up with Plusnet using a new account, but supplied the number that's with you already, would this cause problems? How best to deal with that?

Re: New customer?

Not problems as such but it's likely to involve a reprovision of the service.
Is there a specific issue in mind that you need some help with?

Re: New customer?

Hmm. Well what would happen if I completed this as a new order, as per the screenshot, since it seems that's the only way this is going to happen.

Re: New customer?

Hi dsw,
Can't see a screenshot I'm afraid?
As regards signing up, if you do the line check with a number that's already with us it'll take you to the login page and ask if you'd like to upgrade your account.

Re: New customer?

It's in the ticket, the screenshot, as it contains personal details.
The system will let me progress the order on my existing telephone number. Probably a bug, but nevertheless, it does. You'll see from the screenshot.
