My contract is for broadband and landline and ends next Mar. In the meantime I get 'offers' for broadband only. Can I sign up then before my contract ends to only having broadband as I never use the landline nowadays. The upgrade offer makes no mention of this so it's not clear. Why be offering such an upgrade mid-contract if it ISN'T really available.

Generally speaking 'upgrading' a contract i.e. staying with the same supplier is permitted. The Contract duration will reset, to Aug 2027 rather than Mar 2026.
Leaving your current supplier will incur exit fees unless in the last month of the contract to facilitate a smooth switchover.
