I will be moving to another flat over the weekend and I want to take my BT and PN accounts with me, and at the same time change to Unlimited Broadband. I am told the previous owner was with Sky for telephony and broadband. I believe if the line is disconnected and there is no dial tone BT may charge me £130 for the reconnection, and they may need up to 14 days. I am not sure in what order I should do things to minimise disruption and costs. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Hi there,
Best thing to do would be to call our support centre and choose the option for moving house in the menu system. This will put you through to our house moves team who'll be able to explain the process to you and advise of the best way to proceed, along with any fees etc if there are any (and if possible also any ways around them )
Hope that helps, cheers.

Thanks for that. Yes, with telephony added the move offer is competitive. Not as competitive as it seems initially in my case. Most of my chargeable calls are to international numbers through special 0844 numbers and PN's rates are 50-100% higher than BT's. It took a lot of digging to find out. Eg see g22 here:
https://www.bt.com/pricing/current/Call_Charges_boo/1632_d0e5.htm#1632-d0e5
http://www.productsandservices.bt.com/consumer/assets/downloads/BT_PhoneTariff_SpecialNos.pdf
https://www.plus.net/home-broadband/tariffs/
Over 24 months, PN offer with various fees waived is still cheaper overall, but only marginally in my case.
