Hi near,
With the service you're on, the early termination fees would be applicable, however the £30 broadband cease charge would not be applicable.
Having said this, I believe the £80 charge you were previously advised of was about £30 more than it should have been.
(Early termination fees)
If the customer chooses to end their end service they will have to pay any applicable early termination fees.
(Cease fee)
If someone moves to an address where we cannot provide broadband service they will not have to pay the cease fee e.g. an address where the line cannot support a broadband service or it falls within the KCOM area. However, they will have to pay any applicable early termination fees.

Quote 18• If you choose to end your Plusnet Broadband service within the minimum period (except where inside the cancellation period set out in the Residential Standard Terms), you will have to pay a termination charge by way of compensation to us for ending your service early. This charge will be calculated by multiplying the number of months remaining in your minimum term by a monthly early termination charge, as set out in the Price guide. This charge will not be subject to VAT.

Quote 19• If you choose to end your agreement for the service and the service is ceased or you are switching your service to another provider on a different network, you may be subject to the broadband cease charge as shown in the Price guide. You will not have to pay this charge if you are moving home and we are unable to provide the service at the new UK address.

[Not sure if this is relevant in the OPs case but...]
From the FTTC T&C's

Quote Ending your Agreement
17. If you choose to end your Plusnet Fibre service within the minimum period, (except where inside the cancellation period set out in the Residential Standard Terms) you will have to pay a termination charge by way of compensation to us for ending your service early. This charge will be calculated by multiplying the number of months remaining in your minimum term by a monthly early termination charge, as set out in the Price guide. This charge will not be subject to VAT. The only exclusion to this is if you move home to a part of the UK where Plusnet do not offer a fibre service.
18. A broadband cease charge, as set out in the Price guide, is payable if you choose to end your agreement for the service, and your service is ceased or you are switching your service to another provider on a different network. You will not have to pay this charge if you are moving home and we are unable to provide the service at the new UK address.

It's not relevant Not currently on fibre, so the ADSL terms Harry provided are the ones to use.

So if fibre is available where he currently lives his best move is to upgrade to fibre before he moves?

I think that would involve a new package contract and then the ETCs, although just for phone, would go higher in total because there are so many more months.

Hi
Thanks for all the feedback.
So according to the termination conditions for broadband.
I don't have to pay the cease charge?
What would the cease charge be?
It isn't clear if this is a separate charge or on top of the remaining months.

Kind Regards
David

Hi
The cessation fee is £30 but you will not have to pay this as per my colleague Harry's post.
