Re: Mid contract fees to increase to £4 each March - effective in the next week

Yet another reason to move to Zen with their "Contract Price Promise" -

The Zen Contract Price Promise is our assurance that the broadband prices you sign up for will remain fixed throughout the lifetime of your contract. In other words, the price you pay on day one will remain the same throughout your contract.

On contract expiry, your price may be subject to increase in response to external factors that impact our ability to provide the quality of service which we pride ourselves on. This may include, for example, the impact of inflation on our supply chain and our people.

or to the likes of Aquiss, with "No In-Contract Price Rises" and "No Annual CPI Increases"

@outcast

I looked at Zen Internet at my last three Plusnet renewals and again after reading your post. On each occasion the total contract price with Zen would have been significantly higher than with Plusnet.

I renewed with Plusnet at the end of April for 24 month full fibre 900 at a cost of £31.99 a month, plus two annual price increases of £3. 24 month total cost £809.76.

Zen charge £50 a month for full fibre 900 plus £15 set-up fee. Total cost over 24 months £1215.

Even with a £4 annual price rise, Plusnet would would be significantly cheaper than Zen.

Plusnet's out of contract price of £47.99 a month is less than Zen's contract price.

Just read about this - so from March '26 my recently agreed deal (May) of £25.99/mth will go up by £4 rather than the £3 I expected! ie over 15 % !! Outrageous - thanks very much OFCOM !! Inflation ++

@davidj66  No! Your recently agreed contract stays as it is with the £3 increases. Not good but not outrageous.🙄

edit:  £4  increase applies to new signups after 5th August 2025 for Plusnet

@RealAleMadrid  Not the way the press release reads to me ! Hope you are right as I based my upgrade costs vs continuing as was on the £3 increase.
