Mad Moggies: Account type change a week early.

I have the same query. Needs to be looked into urgently as my billing date is 25th.
I had an email to say my product change is complete but installation isn't due till 2nd June and I'm also still on ADSL. I originally made the appointment for 27th May but there was some sort of problem (possibly with the BT system I was told) which resulted in the new date. Even so, it couldn't have completed by today as 27th is this coming Tuesday.
As I say, my billing date is 25th so I'm concerned that if this isn't looked into quickly I'll be charged for Fibre when I'm not on it yet. Have added a reply to a ticket that asks for an extra charge to be applied to my account, saying that it's not active as yet as phoning gives me a message that there's a 30 minute wait in a queue to be answered.

Re: Account type change a week early.

Thanks Linn and Adam.
Have read your reply Adam and if BT are coming today then I won't get that changed in case of more problems! Just hope they arrive early in the afternoon than later.
Just looking at View My Broadband Usage and see that my billing date has been changed as well - to today. As the billing date is changed, that's presumably going to mess up the usual date I have my DD taken, isn't it? I really don't want my DD taken any earlier than it is normally, which is at the very end of the month or just into the start of the next month. Is there any way it can go back to the date it's been since I changed to DD from my credit card being charged?

Re: Account type change a week early.

Your billing date should remain the same and you would get charged a pro-rata charge for the FTTC, however, I can see that Adam's offered a discount on there for you.
We're unable to change billing dates so it will continue as normal for you.

Re: Account type change a week early.

Thanks Linn. Maybe it's just the usage period then, but should the new chart have started today if I'm not on Fibre yet?
It's saying
"This month you've used
223.86MB
of your 40GB allowance"
whereas I was on unlimited for ADSL

Thanks Adam, for the discount for problems caused by the BT mix-up.
Depending on what time BT arrive it could lead to a late night trip to the supermarket! I was supposed to be picking up something I'd ordered from another store on the way and they close for the night at 8.00pm so that might mean another journey if they take their time. Never mind.
What fun!  Cheesy

Re: Account type change a week early.

Regarding the usage allowance. I can change the account back to Unlimited ADSL for you but I'd rather wait to see how events transpire this afternoon, as that could well be a waste of time if the installation goes ahead today.
If in a worse case scenario it didn't I'll change the account type.

Re: Account type change a week early.

Better leave things as they are and keep fingers crossed that it happens today!
The items I'm supposed to be picking up are ethernet over powerline adapters. I had an OWL monitor attached to the internet via an old pair, one of which stopped working yesterday morning so had to order a new set yesterday or I won't be able to see how our solar panels are doing (though they're not doing much today with the miserable weather).

Re: Mad Moggies: Account type change a week early.

No-one here yet. They have just over an hour left for the 13.00-18.00 slot.
Do BT Openreach do this often, that is, reschedule an appointment without letting anyone know apart from via their ordering system?
There were things I had wanted to do this afternoon which I couldn't because I've had to stay in.

Re: Mad Moggies: Account type change a week early.

I've just updated your ticket again, a Kelly's engineer is going to be with you soon.

Re: Mad Moggies: Account type change a week early.

Thanks Adam. Fingers crossed he/she will arrive shortly. It's been frustrating having had to change our plans and then no-one arrives. If we'd known it would be this late we could have gone out earlier.

Re: Mad Moggies: Account type change a week early.

Engineer just rang to say he's not coming. He'd been given far more jobs than he could get done today.
Not happy at all and my husband is seething.
Now my account needs to be returned to ADSL for billing purposes till it's done.
I need a definite appointment again and the engineer advised it should be for the morning slot and then it is likely to get done.
