Leaving difficulty

I left Plusnet on the 20th April but they say I have to pay another month and then get it refunded. That makes no sense and is something I can't afford to do. He also said on the phone that they have no record of my leaving which is also confusing. He threatened me with debt collectors but I don't owe anything so what will they collect. How to sort this?

Just to let others know that the way to sort this for me was to make a formal complaint. The person assigned agreed I owed nothing and in fact they owe me a couple of pounds which I might see some day! Plusnet is a funny company. They really don't appear to like people leaving. They should keep in mind though that we'll maybe be looking for a new ISP again in the future ...

Ha! I seem to have two forum accounts. I had no idea.
