In contract how much to leave?

I'm locked in an 18 month contract which is now costing me over £37 per month!

There are so many cheaper options out there including an offer from both BT & Virgin. My circumstances have recently changed as I've since been diagnosed with cancer & need to cut down costs where ever possible. I need the broadband but its so expensive. Can anyone please tell me how much would I be penalized to break the contract and leave?

Thanks

M

Re: In contract how much to leave?

At a guess, I would say it is however many months left x monthly payment. So if 6 months in, you have 12 months left. 12x £37 = £444. If you only have a few months of your contract left, it may be worth looking into the move, but not if you have a large amount left.

The charges are set out here under 'Broadband and Phone Early Termination Charges' : https://www.plus.net/help/legal/plusnet-price-guide-for-residential-products/

You could try contacting the Customer Options Team on 0800 013 2632 selecting option 1 then option 2 (If you are thinking of leaving) to discuss re-contracting on a better deal. No harm in trying.
