I shall throw down my gauntlet!

Well Hello Mark!
Finally someone seems now to be concentrating on referrals, I used to
refer, but got pieved off with it, because quite frankly I did not feel
us referrers were being taken seriously. Remember PlusNet, the people
make or break you, and referrer's are one of your greatest assets,
because if you cannot convince us your worth referring, then why will we
even bother staying?
So here to you is my suggestion, If you like I will let you look at my
account, you will see that once I was a referrer, (oh and I stopped
referring when it became evident that you were not taking care of your
network), but I am hearing that the platform is good again, that plusnet
is making the effort, and your saying that your platform is stable.

I have a suggestion for you. If you are so confident that your network
is stable and that Plusnet have turned things around and improved, then
why not put your money where your mouth is.
Give me and others an incentive to start referring again. Talk is cheap,
its actions we want.
You currently give new customers 30 days to try your products with no
risks or they leave for free. If things are so good and you are so
confident then give them 3 months trial. Remember, look after your
referrers too.
Are you up for it? Can you get the nod, to prove your service and show
me how good you can be?

Hi darkfox.
Welcome to the forums.
Thats quite a challenge you have set me and one which will cause quite a bit of debate within the business.
However, you know what, I think it's great. I am confident that we have turned things around and I'm happy to put my money where my mouth is.
I'll make a case and put it to the business, but I agree that this is something we could and should deliver.

Re: I shall throw down my gauntlet!

I have to say that this starts to remind me of those interest free offers for credit card.  We would not want to encourage people to take advantage of 'free' offers and just move around different providers - or, in other words, I would not want to subsidize them.
Perhaps:
- if you leave within the first month, there is nothing to pay as now
- if you leave in months two or three, you pay the monthly charges but don't pay any exit charges
but then it's starting to get complicated...

Re: I shall throw down my gauntlet!

Ok darkfox. You threw down the gauntlet and I'v picked it up.
How does this grab you then?
We'll offer customers migrating in, 90 days to try our products, risk free.
If they dont like it we'll, refund the subscription if they cancel.
Yes we're taking a risk, but I believe that we are putting our money where our mouth is.
I'll go into the detail of this in more depth next week and we are aiming to deliver this during the first week in July.
Over to you darkfox, you going to bite?

Re: I shall throw down my gauntlet!

This is an excellent move.... as long as the system isn't abused!
I would hate to see loads of people sign up just to get the free usage.
Also, it would be bad if it other providers started doing the same, which meant someone could hop on a "merry-go-round" of free-lunch internet providers changing to a new one every three months.
I don't want PlusNet to get stung, and therefore existing customers to lose out. Is there a way you can get a safeguard in place to stop people abusing the offer?
Also, can we have some clarification of what will happen to us referrers in this process?
Presumably we will get the referral fees as we do now, and they will accrue each time the bill is paid for the first three months. So that is fine, but what happens if they they leave before the free period ends and you refund them their subscriptions? Will you then remove our referral fees too?
Some more clarification would be gladly received.

Re: I shall throw down my gauntlet!

This sounds like a great idea, I'm just concerned as how it would work out for refferers should someone cancel during their ninety days.  Cry

I'll post up the product rules and details of an exiciting opportunity for our referrers when we launch this offer.
Yes there is a risk for us here but we have created some very simple and clear product rules to safeguard against any potential abuse which I believe are sensible and understandable and do not detract from the attractiveness of the deal.
We will launch this offer in conjunction with something a bit special for our referrers. I did say a couple of weeks ago that it was payback time for you guys. Hopefully you'll agree that I have kept to my promise. Smiley
Enough said for now. Give it until July 1st for more details.

Re: I shall throw down my gauntlet!

Am I reading this wrong? If someone decides the service is not for them that have to CANCEL their broadband connection and cannot migrate to another ISP and claim a refund?

Re: I shall throw down my gauntlet!

If customers don't like the service they can choose to cancel or migrate out, either way they will get the refund as long as it is within 90 days.

Re: I shall throw down my gauntlet!

Perhaps this need s to be made much clearer because the T&C do not read that way. They read as though a cease has to be made before there is a refund and there is no mention of the connection fee for new BB users. I think someone needs to have a good look at the T&C's again.

Re: I shall throw down my gauntlet!

Thanks for the feedback George.
A cease in Eco refers to the asset no longer belonging to us, not a cease of the line. However if this terminology is causing confusion I am happy to take a look. When you say "I think someone needs to have a good look at the T&C's again" is it simply that part or is it confusing in its entirety?
