I give up!!!!

Huh  This family is not only new to the UK but have launched into a B & B business here in Scotland, of which we know nothing about but we are having a lot of fun. What scares me stiff is all the new technology and the language of this new technology. I have been with F9 since arriving here and so far I have coped quite well with all the technology, but now you go off and start something called PlusNet and I just don't understand any of it!! Wish I could have broadband but here on the island it is not good, so dial up it is, hope you never forget about us oldies who have to dialup.

Wonderful place, Scotland Smiley  lived in Lossie as a child and took my kids up to live in the warden's cottage (bird sanctuary) on Papa Westray, some long time later.
Which island are you on?

Whilst I was in PUG (PlusNet UserGroup, run by PN-group customers from all PN (PlusNet)'s vISPs (virtual ISPs, ie Force 9, MetroNet, FreeOnline, and the PlusNet brand itself) a "Glossary" was started to explain all the technical terms - http://usergroup.plus.net/forum/index.php/topic,2990.0.html -  the links are a bit out of date now but a lot of the technical stuff (and things like acronyms) is explained there.
The "PlusNet Past" thread - http://usergroup.plus.net/forum/index.php/topic,3066.0.html -  gives a lot of the history of Force 9 (F9) and PlusNet - everything is being brought under the PlusNet umbrella now in terms of the "portal" and so on - http://portal.plus.net/index_nlp.html - but as far as I know the separate "brands" (the vISPs) will all continue to exist.
Hope this helps Smiley
Regards,
Penny.

Fear not that wont happen at all, although its pretty much taken as red that most people are now using broadband its also well known that there are still many others who either cant get it or more likely still dont need it so any help you may need just ask

Bill.
