Hi,
I joined Plusnet last summer on a free installation offer. As I was renting on a short term lease I asked what cancellation fees would be involved on my account. It was explained to me that there was a £25 payment which I would be liable for to cover BT's costs. Fair enough I thought.
I am now about to move and called up to cancel my subscription.
I was told I would have to pay £50 in charges - the £25 to as was explained and a further £25 deferred setup fee ?
As I have explained, I was told that there were no costs involved in getting me setup with plusnet. Further into the conversation It was explained to me in a very unprofessional manner by [mremoved], that Plusnet do not keep recordings back further than six months in order to retrieve the conversation I had when setting up the account, and thus establishing the fact I was told I would not pay any fees for the setup.
As Plusnet could not provide evidence of this, I would be subject to paying these fees and if that could not be done the usual process would be followed.
This is ridiculous, I have had better service from call centres in the outer reaches of Bangladesh than I got from this #@###. What ever happened to the customer is always right ?
I will be seeking advice elsewhere from ombudsmen etc, but whatever help can you offer me in this situation would be very gratefully received

Kind Regards
Mike Burns
