Hardware (Router) Management Platform - how many?

Is it just one router per account that can be 'registered' or unlimited or a set amount?

If it's more than one router, could this cause authentication issues?

TIA

Fix

Hi @DS, in terms of the routers that get registered for authentication, the system does allow more than one router to be registered.

However, the main thing is that the system only allows an individual serial number to be registered to one account so there should not be any authentication issues as a result of this.

As always, fanksalot Matt Smiley

So it allows more than one to be registered Smiley

And the system only permits one serial number ....?

But having been tinkering with TR069, why did it do this?

You can have more than one serial number on an account, but you can’t have the same serial number across more than one account.

Hope that helps.

Re: Hardware (Router) Management Platform - how many?

Fanks for that too Anoush Smiley

I thought that would be the case, as in a router (or routers) can only be attached to one individual user account at any one time.

I misinterpreted Matt's reply when he stated

the main thing is that the system only allows an individual serial number to be registered to one account so there should not be any authentication issues as a result of this.

As I'd read it that this meant an individual serial number per one account, which was my fault as I thought he'd contradicted himself with the first bit Embarrassed

So let's say there was going to be another software update, possibly after some recent issues are replicated, I could put one H1 on the network and it would auto update, then potentially I could swap to the other H1, your system would see this as out of date and this would also auto update?

Having said that, I'd of thought one would auto disable when the other was in use on the network and the second would miss the dinghy?

Or would the system try to send updates to all registered routers on one account, until such time all registered routers were known to be up to date?

(speaking of which, I'm thinking of putting one back onLips_are_sealed)

No problem. As far as I'm aware this would happen:

Or would the system try to send updates to all registered routers on one account, until such time all registered routers were known to be up to date?

Having said that if a router is disconnected for long enough, I believe the auto-setup(TR069) will automatically be disabled.

Thanks for that too Smiley

Case closed. I'll give Matt the fix if all are happy with this. He did reply first and actually answered it (if I'd read it right the first time).

I actually did give a reason but then took it back out of the reply. Shh, If you really want to know, somebody has got some catching up to do!! (yes 590 v 9, but it's not about the numbers - though guess the higher ones get the better seat around the camp fire, or get the 'oi two sugars' privilege)

Well, somebody does deserve to feel wanted (and loved)

edit. "somebody does deserve to feel wanted (and loved)" then again, maybe not. He had 9 fixes, plus this one (on my fingers makes 10), but it's still showing 9.
