Grrrrr!

Okay, mostly my fault but you should treat people better than this.
Direct Debit failed - for the want of 36p! Angry
Seven day pause waiting for funds to put this right - self-employed, it ain't always easy.  Undecided
Phew! Log in to PlusNet to pay to be presented with two payment options: re-use the DD or pay by card.
Chose the DD as I don't want to pay by card only for the DD to then gobble up too.
5 to 7 days for a DD to do its stuff.
Bingo! Service restricted!
NOWHERE did it say this could or would be a consequence of paying by DD.
Switch me back on!

Hardly PNs fault you dont have enough funds in your bank account when the DD is presented...

Hi greenginger,
Really sorry about that, though I suspect the best we could do would be to warn about the delay taking direct debit payments on the payment redirect page - I'm afraid we can't change our billing policy, which is a 14 day grace period before anything on the account is disabled.
We'll sort the payment redirect page wording out as soon as we can.

Yes, the wording needs to change. As it stands the message is: "to avoid restrictions pay up", then "how would you like to pay, card or DD?". There is no warning that the DD might still take you into restrictions.
I don't think you should change the billing policy - it's generally fair enough.
I do think it needs to be clearer.
I don't appreciate being caught out on a "technicality" so I would appreciate the goodwill gesture of switching me back on.

Don't be a tool Peter, it has nothing to do with the banking system and everything to do with a method of payment being offered and accepted but to no effect.

You are. The word is impecunity not "inpecunity" and it implies hardship. Do you find hardship funny? Simultaneously, illiterate and callous.

This is about to happen to me done exactly the same as you have 4 days then no internet how did you sort this
