Fibre installed tomorrow but no router sent

HI, I am having Fiber installed tomorrow morning but according to the members center page on my account no router has been sent out yet, it shows payment made and that Hardware dispatch pending. If the engineer comes out and i do not have it will the installation not go ahead? worried that even if it gets sent today because of the bank holiday causing delays it will not turn up till Friday.

Your router may arrive today/tomorrow as sometimes the order tracking can be a bit slow to update.

No, the engineer will still install the modem and test to that. If you still don't have the router then you can connect a single PC directly to the modem using a direct pppoe connection. Thanks, good to know. I do still have the router from bethere which i do not have to send back just yet so i assume i can use that in the mean time if it is late turning up. Sneaky edit: only realized that after looking on other threads on here.

If it's a normal ADSL router it probably won't work without a firmware update and significant reconfiguring - and depending on the model may not even be possible.

Its a Thomson TG585 v7 but it is on its why out, it works ok but it keeps changing its address that i use to reach it via a web browser. its a pain but unless i am adding a device to the wifi network i do not need to touch it. All redundant mind as i am sure (fingers crossed) the plusnet one will turn up tomorrow/today.

It IS possible to reconfigure a TG585v7 to use LAN port 4 as a WAN port using a pppoe connection but it's not a trivial task. You can upload a template file to it and then use the built-in setup wizard to reconfigure it. See information here http://forums.modem-help.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=9301 for help on templates.
