FTTC Value Fibre - Switch to Extra or Pro add-on?

Hi,
I currently have a Value fibre account, with upload speeds capped at 2Mb.
I do not need any increase in download limits from the 40GB that is included with the account, but I would like faster upload speeds.
Would I be better off going for the Extra package or the Pro add-on to my existing account?
Paul.

Nope as neither would give better upload speeds - higher uploads are in the pipeline but not yet announced

Hmmm,
I thought that Extra gave 5Mb uploads, but traffic managed.
I couldn't quite work ot whether the Pro add-on gave me 5 Mb uploads or not, or even whether I would need both Pro & Extra, even though I don't need the increased GB.

We are looking at providing a 10Mbps upload option though, and hope to announce details of this over the coming weeks.

Those FAQs were posted on 19th April. I rather think that 21 weeks and counting was not what people expected. Despite extreme pushing in another topic Plusnet have declined to give any date or even an aspiration as to whether they hope to make faster speeds available before the end of the year. If faster upload is really import I suggest you look elsewhere.

Strange that the BT fibre option runs at 10Mb up but the PN one doesn't  Sad

Re: FTTC Value Fibre - Switch to Extra or Pro add-on?

Thanks folks,
I think I was getting mixed up with the 5Mb download speed for VPN via the extra package.
As I work from home sometimes, connecting to the office VPN server, VPN is really the only thing I'm really bothered about..
So, if I understand it properly, to get 5Mb download via VPN in normal hours, would I need the extra fibre package?
Or, would the Pro add-on give me VPN downloads at whatever speed my connection & the VPN server could handle with no traffic management 24 hours per day?

Paul.

With Pro addon you would get all the speed your line can handle with no speed restrictions including VPN on any product

Thanks Oldjim,
I'll give it a go then.
I believe I could cancel the Pro add-on after a month if I don't really see a major benefit anyway?

You certainly can - you can cancel any time, the add on will stay on until the end of the month and then be removed.
