FTTC Order Status shows date of 01/01/1970

Yesterday I ordered a change from ADSL to FTTC.  I see that a bunch questions were raised and closed, and I got an email/text confirming the engineer appointment for March 28 after 1pm (originally "Live Appointing failed", followed by [removed] updating ticket with a provisional appointment) against order reference 1-15289294038.
However, when I look under my accounts page on the member centre it shows:
Date: 01/01/1970
Order Number: -
Product: Unlimited Fibre
Order Status: Pending
Is that normal for an order in this stage, or is there a problem?
Thanks!
Doug.

Hi Doug,
The 01/01/1970 date is something we are aware of and will not affect your order, we're waiting on confirmation for your appointment on the 28th and we'll confirm that with you as very soon.

Just got an update and our suppliers have made us aware that there are currently no DSLAM ports available at your cabinet, I've escalated this to find out how soon this will be available to get your order placed.
I'm waiting on a response from them.

Re: FTTC Order Status shows date of 01/01/1970

Wow, the cabinet only went live two weeks ago!  I noticed that they system was blocking me from placing an order for the last few days, and the option for FTTC only reappeared yesterday so I jumped-in.  I guess my neighbours jumped-in faster!
If you'd like to switch me from FTTC to the Basingstoke FTTPoD trial, I would not complain  Wink

Re: FTTC Order Status shows date of 01/01/1970

Hi Chris,
Did you have any joy getting confirmation? I see that the BT Wholesale Checker now shows availaiblity from March 26 for my line; I'm hoping that means there will be additional capacity in-place ahead of my provisional installation date of March 28.
Many thanks,
Doug

Hi Doug,
It seems that we'll be able to place the order again on the 26th but not before. I'll make sure we place it on that date and confirm this with you.

Re: FTTC Order Status shows date of 01/01/1970

I seem to have a similar issue to Doug's...........
On the 10th March I decided to switch to FTTC having learnt (& after having it confirmed by PlusNet) that 'my' cabinet was recently enabled. Booking the switch online gave me the opportunity to select the engineer's visit date that I did for the 15th March, a.m.
But lo! Nothing happened, no contact from anyone. I raised a ticket around 11:00 on the 15th to find out what was going on and received the following message on the ticket:-
"I've placed the FTTC order for you and provisionally booked the appointment for 22/03/2103 between 8 AM and 1 PM". The note goes on to say
"***INTERNAL***  Can we check that the appointment that is booked for 22/03/2103 AM has been successful.[Notification sent to: (my email address)]
It is now 4 days later.....you've guess it. Nothing, despite posting a further query on my ticket. So, what's going on? If there is a problem somewhere along the line (sorry for the pun) then why does it appear that I cannot be updated with the present position?

Re: FTTC Order Status shows date of 01/01/1970

Hi there,
Sorry for the delay. I've just checked the order and can confirm that the appointment is indeed booked and confirmed for the morning slot (between 8am and 1pm) this Friday, the 22nd March.
Hope that helps, I'll update the ticket as well.

Re: FTTC Order Status shows date of 01/01/1970

Hi Team,
The checker is now showing my line as FTTC available: and of all days it's on my birthday ;D.
Pretty please can you progress the order and confirm my appointment; hopefully before the next line card is fully allocated!
Order reference: 1-15289294038
Thanks!

Hi DOug,
We've booked your install in for fibre, the only downside is the next appointment is the 15th April 8am - 1pm.
It's all confirmed this time though Smiley

Re: FTTC Order Status shows date of 01/01/1970

Hi,
I'm a little worried again... in ticket #67560198 on March 27 I got a provisional appointment and the text:
Quote
you will receive confirmation of this appointment via e-mail and SMS within the next 24 working hours

But I've not had the confirmation.  Does this mean the order has again failed?  Please can you check for me?
Many thanks,
Doug.

Re: FTTC Order Status shows date of 01/01/1970

I've booked Monday morning off work so I can be home for the engineer.  Grin
Does PlusNet sent a confirmation the day before home appointments, to confirm they're still going ahead?  Without any kind of order tracking status in the portal, like I got with my ADSL provisioning, I am a little nervous that things have changed since the ticket 2+ weeks ago.
British Gas sent me £70 compensation because they confirmed the day-before and then cancelled on-the-day three appointments in-a-row.  Took four weeks to get my oven fixed!  In truth I would have preferred a change to their system to do *real* confirmations based on engineer availability rather than money.  Good advice to all providers... keep your customers well informed with the facts, good or bad  Wink
Thanks!
Doug.
