Email and Portal Login Problems

I am currently unable to login to my webmail or the customer portal using the correct username and password.

 

 

Any common problems?

 

Looks like all email I send to my PN hosted accounts are being bounced too.

It's not everyone as I have just logged into both without any problems.

I have also just sent an email to my Plusnet email address successfully.

I must have been really bad in a previous life as this was my 3rd ISP in a row that used lithium.
Now you're stuck with me because my new ISP doesn't run a forum Cheesy

Something in very borked in my account, my main password had been changed, just found the tickbox to indicate 'block all email to this domain' is now checked.

Have just seen that in my accounts, the last email messages were recieved at about 09:10 this morning, now that I can see my tickets, I can see PN staff did change my account logins this morning at 09:13

 

See ticket https://www.plus.net/wizard/?p=view_question&id=135082136 and https://www.plus.net/wizard/?p=view_service_notice&id=289519809 which talks about changing the password on my 2704N router .... which is not connected at all, I use my own TPLINK router.

 

So please why didn't the CSC staff I spoke to for along time this evening not spot this!! Total waste of my evening.

The note on the account from the person you spoke to reference a secondary mailbox password, not the main account one. Maybe this is why they didn't discuss the main account password being changed.

You have totally missed the point.

A person at PN changed my main account password! For some reason that stopped my email accounts working, I could also not login to the portal because that password had changed.

So then I had to call PN customer support.

Who would not talk to me initially because I do not know what it had been changed to by PN. The CSC staff are adamant they can not change or know my password. Yet that is exactly what had happened.

I want an explanation why my passwords were changed by PN staff?

I have been trying to log in all this evening, my members passwd/main plusnet one was the same/still good, but this one to the forums kept telling me that it was no good.

 

Not true.

35+ years of computer security has given me quite a good authinfo regime, I have 100's if not of 1000's on the go with a 3x3 backup, each of which told me the browser was giving the right one.

 

The only way was for me to generate an e-mail saying I needed a reminder/change ...not true, your system b0rked.

 

How are they kept ?

An open database ?

Salted and hashed ?

Postit ?

 

This now makes me wonder about my plusnet router that I have been locked out of, I cant log into it via any route ssh/ftp/telnet/http[s], not on any user.

 

Are we going to find out in a years time that PN lost control of users info ?

I have no dup authinfo so owning the forum would not get a route into any other of my accounts ...anyone else say the same, forums are a weak link, and turning off e-mail/notifications are a given, like cleaning logs.

Has been replied to by PN and it is very unsatisfactory, if this is the level of support we now get at PN, sadly there is little to differentiate PN from other ISP's.

 

The response is clearly by a person who has only read one part of the thread, reached the conclusion that everything is my fault, found a piece of the thread which matched that assumption and posted a reply to that effect.
