Don't understand higher bill after new contract

We've been on unlimited Fibre and have been paying out of contract price for a while, on Saturday I called and agreed to a new contract for £25.99/month upgrading to unlimited Fibre extra in the process. We're please with the new speed, but the bill I just received is confusing. Our previous billing date was the 9th instead of the 2nd. The representative did say that the first bill may be different and that it would be corrected the 2nd month. However I would still really like to understand what the numbers on there mean, so that I can check I don't end up paying too much overall.

Re: Don't understand higher bill after new contract

@rexmedorum  Welcome to the forums.

Looking at your screen shot I would say they have done part month adjustments for you old Fibre price (maybe a few days by the looks of it) and then charge the balance of the new contract price for the month (remember you pay in advance). So hopefully it will sort it self out next month.

Check the charges broken down section on the next page and see if they add up as that’ll show you the date ranges of the charges/discounts.
