Don't throw out the garbage which comes with the BT share dividend

I received the dividend from my vast quantity of BT shares today and was amused/interested/surprised to see an advert in the News and Offers flyer an advert for Plusnet offering shareholders six months of broadband at half price if they sign up to use Plusnet.
So how about a discount for existing Plusnet users that are BT Shareholders. - After all whats good for newcomers is also good for long time supporters of Plusnet that are BT shareholders..
Interesting to see that BT has allowed Plusnet to out itself and also that the cosseted BT Internet service was not mentioned.

Hi there,
The half price offer applies to existing customers too, you just need to get in touch as per the offer details.
Kind Regards,

Re: Don't throw out the garbage which comes with the BT share dividend

Is this offer only open to existing shareholders or to new ones too?
A share is 184p at the moment plus around a  tenner to a stockbroker.  Would the offer still be available if the shares were held by a nominee (e.g. in a Halifax Share Dealing account)?

Re: Don't throw out the garbage which comes with the BT share dividend

I haven't received mine yet but from previous experience the offers only apply to holders of shares who receive the dividend with the offer included and offers very rarely carry over to the next dividend payment.
So buying shares in order to get the offer is very unlikely to be successful

Re: Don't throw out the garbage which comes with the BT share dividend

My BT shares are held in a nominee account - so I don't get any paperwork.
Am I eligible for this offer?
I've held these shares for many years....
[edit]
Just realised I've also got a smaller number of paper shares - dividend received 7/02/2011 - but I've lost/discarded any junk mail.
Am I still eligible?
