Re: Confusing July Bill

Fix

Decided to call anyway.

It also contains last month's increase that wasn't applied.

Re: Confusing July Bill

Thanks for your post @Kremmen

I'm sorry for the confusion with your latest bill. It looks like our price increase went through after your bill last month was generated, so it's taken effect on this one.

Let us know if there are further issues or anything else you'd need help with.

From 31st October 2022, I no longer have a regular presence here as I’ve moved on to a new role.

Re: Confusing July Bill

Looking at these figures your future monthly bill (from August) should be £1.38 more than your June bill of £29.99 i.e. £31.37 a 4.6% rise as was publicised to take effect from 30/06/2021.

Your July bill includes the pro rata refunds and charges for the 23 days from 30/06/2021 to 22/07/2021 for which you were not charged in your June bill covering the 30 days 23/06/2021 to 22/07/2021.

The breakdown for the pro rata adjustments are:

Old Rates:

Broadband £16.23 x 23/30 = £12.44 refunded

Discount -£6.53 x 23/30 = -£5.01 removed

Line Rental £20.29 x 23/30 = £15.56 refunded

Total  refunded pro rata = £22.99

New Rates:

Broadband £16.98 x 23/30 = £13.02 charged

Discount -£6.83 x 23/30 = -£5.24 applied

Line Rental £21.22 x 23/30 = £16.27 charged

Total charged pro rata £24.05 (i.e. £1.06 extra)

Re: Confusing July Bill

I also have a confusing July bill with each item mentioned three times and an increase of 10% over previous months bill..  Seems like the same issue of the price rise not being applied last month.

I seem to be in a similar position, so I'll wait and see if things look any better on next months bill.

Re: Confusing July Bill

Thanks a lot for reaching out @anthonyw

I've had a look into this for you and it appears to be due to the recent price rise that we've had, with our system backdating certain elements of your bill to ensure that you've paid the correct amount. This should be a one off though, so pleas let us know if you have similar issues on your next bill and we'll be happy to investigate.

Re: Confusing July Bill

Thanks for the explanation.

I just hope CPI doesn't run riot as this could become a very expensive service and another candidate for annual shopping around.

The price rise structure being identical to BT does show your hands are tied.

We’ve always aimed to offer competitive prices as a value provider and I suspect we’ll continue to do so through greater discounts when renewing a contract.
