Clarification on mobile charges

Just to clarify. PlusNet misleads showing that mobile charges are 12.54p p/m, however there is a 19p connection charge, so even if you ring to give a miss call (without any connection) you will get a charge of 33p. This will apply to interntional calls too

And why do they take 30 minutes to answer customer services, especially when its a phone companyHuh?, a way around this is to call sales (waiting time less than 60 seconds) complain about waiting time and get put ahead of queue and transferred, this will force them to sort their support. Cannot wait for this contract to come to an end.

Re: Clarification on mobile charges

The 19p setup charge is clearly stated in the tariff guide under "How we charge for calls", so no obscurity there.

Regarding the 33p charge for a "missed call", somewhere the "system" must have registered a connection, even if it was not noticeable to you.

Re: Clarification on mobile charges

From a staff perspective, I have to echo @PeeGee's comments, there is also a 19p connection charge listed. Apologies if this is unclear.

Re: Clarification on mobile charges

well I've been charged about £20 over a period of three months for what you say is 'somewhere the "system" must have registered a connection'. this is for missed calls to request a call back in order not to get charged, but if you ring a mobile with a 1 bell ring you get a 33p charge, so u always register a connection. These are clearly unclear crafty tactics that should be made clear.

Re: Clarification on mobile charges

Unfortunately the charges are generated when the wholesale systems sees a connection and passes a charge on to ourselves. Once we receive the wholesale charge, the charge for the call is applied to the account.

That suggests the mobile operator is signalling a connection when the connection has not been made (ie it is still ringing out, not answered) - in which case it is not a fault in the calling system. Does it happen with more than one mobile operator?

You clearly believe the recipient did not trigger "a connection" at the point you disconnect, but have you taken into consideration that the first "ring" at your end is the "silence" after the first "ring" at the recipient?
