Re: Cheque payment ?

I know what you mean @rongtw, not just PlusNet.

HMRC said I owed them money (wasn't a huge amount), could only pay by cheque or postal order. Eh? Can't pay by card over the phone? Usually they would just adjust your tax code. So I posted them a cheque. Postal orders you have to pay for, not much, but if I have a free option or a pay option I will go for the former. Feel like I have gone back in time 20 years.

My cheque book is nearly running out, though the year on the first stub is 2001, so at least you can say it has lasted me a while Tongue

Re: Cheque payment ?

Hi Ron,

Apologies for the inconvenience caused here, I can see what's happened.

As I remember it, during our conversation last month, I removed the stored card details from your account as you advised me that payments are no longer made via that card.

In order to remove those details, I've had to set the payment method to cheque.

Admittedly, what plays out now I didn't foresee:

The usual 14 day grace period of failed billing won't start until 7 days after your bill date. So you won't be able to pay online at plus.net/pay until the usual 14 days begins.

Effectively, you're now getting a grace period of 21 days from your bill date, before we disable the account due to lack of payment.

I hope this helps clarify things Smiley
