Charged for a period I wasn't with Plusnet

I migrated to Vodafone on the 17th October and Plusnet took 22.99 on the 15th October and I've just received a partial refund minus charges for the period 18/10 to the 17/11.

Why have I been charged when I wasn't with Plusnet for that period?
