Changing fibre product while in contract

I have another thread running with reference to the actual mechanism (BT Part) but this relates to my existing contract for Extra Fibre (80/20)

If I ask to downgrade to Fibre (40/10) is it possible to retain the discounts on the existing contract or will it require a new contract (18 months I suppose) with whatever I can negotiate with Customer Options which is most unlikely to match the present deal

If it means a new contract then waiting for my present contract to run out would seem to be the better option as it is only until January if my calculations are correct

Re: Changing fibre product while in contract

I would also like to know how it works , i have 6 month left of my 24month 80/20

but would be interested in the 40/10 as a cheaper option

Hey Oldjim.

If I ask to downgrade to Fibre (40/10) is it possible to retain the discounts on the existing contract

Sadly not.

will it require a new contract (18 months I suppose) with whatever I can negotiate with Customer Options which is most unlikely to match the present deal

Aye.

If it means a new contract then waiting for my present contract to run out would seem to be the better option as it is only until January if my calculations are correct

To avoid any potential early termination charges, yeah I'd recommend waiting until then too (it ends on the 6th Jan).

From 31st October 2022, I no longer have a regular presence here as I’ve moved on to a new role.
