Changes to account holder

Hi
For one reason or another, we need to change the account holder name and log in details.  When we called customer services (by phone) a couple of days ago, we were told it was not possible to change the account holder name under any circumstances.  Can someone please confirm this is the case?
Our other query is whether of not it is possible to change the log in username?
Thanks

Re: Changes to account holder

The only way to change username is by closing the current account opening a new account which will involve a period of down time. Changing the name of the account holder should be possible (they must do it when women marry!).
PS. Be careful if you are also changing the name of the account holder on a BT phone - it has been known to cause the broadband to be cancelled.

Re: Changes to account holder

Surely there is a Bereavement Option that enables a spouse to take over the account without losing phone and internet access. or does the spouse have to masquerade as their dead partner for the rest of time.

Re: Changes to account holder

There is confusion here
You can change the account holder without problem https://portal.plus.net/my.html?action=update_details - see picture
However the one thing that you can't change is the username but you can change the password part of the login details
