Cessation charge?

Hi

I'm thinking of going over to BT from Plusnet and understand that if I do so while mid-contract, I'll have a fee to pay.  However, what is the cessation charge?  If I wait until my contact is ended with Plusnet, do I really have to pay them £30 to cancel and go to BT?

Re: Cessation charge?

HI @yumi41The cessation charge no longer applies, and in any case it only applied if you moved to a supplier such as Virgin, who do not use the BT network,

Re: Cessation charge?

Yes I believe it only applies if you wish to cancel broadband completely from your line, so in case you don't want it at all or Virgin where it is carried via a separate link.

In your case moving providers should be fine.

@OllieC's post here https://community.plus.net/t5/Broadband/Cessation-charge-quot-active-quot/m-p/1580255#M327511 says that "This charge has been completely removed from our T's & C's."

Re: Cessation charge?

Hello @all -

Just for confirmation we do not charge the ceassation fee of £30.00 post August of this year. When you leave whether it be to anothe provider on the Openreach network or off (Virgin, Hyperoptic etc) you will just be charged your early termination fees (if you have any) and 14 days notice which will appear on the final invoice.

Hope this clears things up.
