Cessation Charge Activated?

Hi,
I've just seen an entry on my account for Cessation Charge of £30 activated. As I asked both BT and PlusNet about any other fees and I transferred with a MAC code I did not think there should be any charge.
Could someone clarify this for me, thanks?

Re: Cessation Charge Activated?

That entry is normal, it has relevance only for leaving Plusnet, not for joining. If you cancel your broadband service or transfer to another provider without using a MAC (or following a recognised migration process for an LLU provider) that cessation charge applies.
Of course if you leave before your contract ends the appropriate early leaving charges apply even if a MAC is used.
