Cancellation for an elderly friend

Hi

As the topic title says, can anyone advise on how to cancel an account of an elderly friend who has now moved out of her home into a care home? Unfortunately this friend is no longer able to make phone calls or write letters herself but she understands what’s going on and can sign forms.
I can’t seem to find any advice anywhere on the PlusNet site on how to do this. Her landlord has been given notice and she will no longer need any phone or broadband services.

Please help.

@seasideman

You can write a letter and get your friend to sign it. See https://www.plus.net/help/legal/cancellation-policy/

See Requesting Cease of Service

'It is recommended that for your own peace of mind, any letter containing a cancellation request for cease of service is sent by recorded delivery. We cannot accept responsibility for lost letters not sent in this way. The letter must state the name of the account holder, the account username, the full address of where we are providing the service as well as the telephone number which we are providing the service on'.

Re: Cancellation for an elderly friend

This form seems to be for someone still in contract. My friend is out of contract and is now on a monthly rolling contract with plusnet. Is it still the same form to be filled in and sent to PlusNet?

Thank you.

Re: Cancellation for an elderly friend

Hi @seasideman, it would still be the same form as even if there is no contract we still require notice to cancel.
