Cancel online or via email?

Hi
I need to cancel an account that we setup for my MIL.  Previously when I attempted to cancel I was kept on hold for over an hour, clearly to prevent me from cancelling my contract.
Is there a way to cancel online or via email as I can't waste anymore time on the phone, especially as I can only call from work.

In my experience phoning cancellations - not the support number - at about 9.00am got through within a couple of minutes

I'm sorry to hear that you wish to cancel As Oldjim said, we only accept cancellations over the phone or through the post. There's currently no queue for our Customer Options team, who can be contacted by calling 0800 013 2632 from a landline or 0330 123 9197 from a mobile
