CS call and offer of cancellation

Hello everyone.
This evening I got a call from CS who asked me about my contract, offered plusnetTV etc (I have freesat so no need) when I mentioned that we may be moving ISPs after the email arrives (options to consider) he offered to cancel us there and then.  I thought I couldn't go through any processes unless I informed PN that I was going to move after the email arrives (I've nt had one)  the CS Rep said it wasn't necessary to get the email.  Is this true?

Personally I wouldn't touch ANY phone calls offering a "better deal", but yes you can cancel at any time you don't have to wait for the email, as you know it is coming.

Oh I see,
Do need to call them to inform them I'm moving to open the 30 day window?  I'm really sorry to ask this I don't want any penalties and I'm reading conflicting information on the forums from different staff
