Bill increased by £5 ?

Can someone please tell me why my bill has gone from 20.42 to 25.42 this month.
I haven't received any emails or anything telling me of any increases.
Wow ok i just saw the other posts about this and i too never saw any email.
£25 for 6mb is getting a bit on the steep side to be honest.
Might be time to look for another isp with a better package.

Re: Bill increased by £5 ?

Talk Talk  Plus package claims i will get 14mb for 14.99 a month and a 1mb upload.
£10 cheaper and twice the speed, that's unlimited d/l as well.
How can i not be tempted to switch?
Sorry but that's just too good a deal to turn down.

Re: Bill increased by £5 ?

Just the words TalkTalk, they are not Unlimited, they might say so but arnt.  Switch to Extra as per the e-mail you were sent in the first week of December and get 60G on peak and save a lot of money as well

Re: Bill increased by £5 ?

I probably did get the email and just deleted it without even reading it.
I think Plus unlimited is overkill for me tbh. i think my avg usage is about 30-50 gb a month.
Still though, how can BT wholesale compete with a 24mb LLU that's 10 pound cheaper, regardless of who the isp is.
Of course it can't compete in an exchange like mine which doesn't even have a date for adsl 2+
And yea i know all about Talk Talk as i was with AOL/CPW before leaving for Plusnet. I left cause of awful support and Plusnet was £5 cheaper.
I remember reading that email now, saw VAT increase to 20% and then just went yea yea yea Delete. Putting the VAT increase and the extra charge in the same email wasn't a good idea to be honest, well for us customers at least.

Re: Bill increased by £5 ?

If your usage is always below 60GB switch to Extra and save yourself a load of money!

Correction: you sent him a marketing email in the first week of December with the price increase totally buried in the small print.

Help those with poor eyesight - other than the marketing link image ALL the text was the same size so what's with the small print

What happened to view my usage thing anyway? I can only see the last 3 now, i thought it showed you all your history.
Last 3 months has been 45  30  45.
So what other if any differences is there between Unlimited and extra?
jelv is correct though about the email. The text was the same size but ppl prolly just saw the vat increase and went Yea i know, Delete.

Re: Bill increased by £5 ?

mmm since when has Unlimited not had prio on gaming?
Also just to bring up the question, why do they charge more for market 2 exchanges, i understand there's less competition, so are they taking advantage of us because of that?

Re: Bill increased by £5 ?

It is prioritised as Titanium but with a 2Mb rate cap
http://www.plus.net/support/broadband/products/archive/plusnet_unlimited_archive.shtml
The reason why they charge more on Market 1 and 2 exchanges is that OFCOM won't let BT wholesale discount the prices so an ISP can't screw the price down whereas they do allow it on Market 3

If people dont read the emails, how is that Plusnets fault for not communicating?
Read the emails, its not difficult.
OldJim is correct in his previous post. - However 2Mb is hardly a "cap" on gaming traffic, - your rarely gonna find something that uses 2Mbit. while gaming

Re: Bill increased by £5 ?

The email starts heavily with advertising which immediately makes you think the entire email is the same. You click next / delete and never see the rest because PN are too sneaky to be upfront about it.
The Clear English campaign would never award PN any crystal diamond.
I need a new signature... i'm bored of the old one!
