Re: Being incentivised to go full fibre scares me Sh1tless

The move to Greenby does not fill me with confidence. I looked up the parent company and researched the directors at Companies House.

It's a very small private company that  could fold at any time and I will not be going down that route.

Apart from BT, who would you suggest would be a reliable  alternative?

The parent company ENIX have been providing hosting and email services for a number of years. It doesn't need a huge organisation to provide hosting and email services. I've used them in the past and the service was excellent.

and I will not be going down that route.

In that case You WILL lose your Plusnet email addresses

@Clangrant

If you do not accept Greenby as your e-mail provider (with a PN address) then you lose your PN email addresses. Simple as that.

Accept them (for the time being) and that gives you time to change all your accounts using a PN address to a new e-mail address.

That sounds sensible as I would have almost 3 months to unentangle myself from PN.

If I set up an email account with BT, would I be able to use it on a web-based email system so that I could forward my email archives over to BT from PN.

And then later make BT my ISP or would I have to go with GMAIL or OUTLOOK for a web based email service?

If I set up an email account with BT,

BT haven't offered email accounts since 2022

Re: Being incentivised to go full fibre scares me Sh1tless

There are other email providers, such has gmx and proton mail. As others have said, do the one year extension. If you can move all your email accounts by september that would work in your favour.

The version of fibre Openreach, uses doesn't need any power between the headend exchange which can be many miles away and you.

For your landline, that has to move to a digtial based sevice at some stage, by going for another 12 months(assuming pn willl allow it) give you time to work out where you want to go.

Your emails are sortable, and your landline is too.

Give pn a call or if one of the mods can push a call to you from pn i think that will help too
