@Richchad

Ask yourself: Is it likely that you would get such an email from a hotmail address?

@Richchad  You've had some email problems as you have said in another thread. This one obviously isn't from Plusnet so is spam and should be ignored.

@RealAleMadrid

I note that this web site is also reported to have been implicated in sending phishing emails.

@Richchad

Personally, considering the problems that you are having, I would be changing my email address,

There is a topic in General Chat looks similar to this

 Scam or malware targeting Plusnet customers

@Baldrick1 I was pretty sure it was a scam but thought it was worth asking in case others had received similar.

I don't use my Plusnet email address, it is just there to receive the plusnet billing which also goes to my main gmail address.

@RealAleMadrid yes you are right I have had many failed to deliver emails but this one did seem a bit different so thought worth mentioning.

That makes it even easier to change.

Thanks for flagging!

If anyone still has the email, please forward it to abuse@plus.net then delete it straight away.

We go into more detail here https://www.plus.net/help/legal/service-abuse/

From 31st October 2022, I no longer have a regular presence here as I’ve moved on to a new role.

Re: [Action required] Your Services Agreement made clearer 7/26/2022 14:19:38 <228004EA6D>

I've just spotted that I had the same email & also assumed it was a scam based on the sender email & url of the link. Though they do appear to have used a genuine url in the signature (I've not tried it just in case!)

It would be really useful (not to say more responsible) if Plusnet -

a) actually put something out to customers to warn them of this &

b) had an email address to forward suspected phishing emails to, so that they can check them out.

c) what action people should take if they have clicked on the link.

Lack of any of the above doesn't surprise me as last time I tried to report a phishing attempt, the help desk just said "yeah, we've been getting a lot of calls about that tonight - just ignore it"

Sorry, just spotted post from Gandalf re email address, but for the majority of users who don't use the forum (self included) some wider comms would be useful (as would publicising the address for reporting)
