Account closed - but payment taken for following month

My broadband account was finally closed and deactivated on 5th March.
However, payment for the following month was taken the day before (4th March).
I would like this incorrect payment to be returned please.

As your account was still active on 4 March, Plusnet took the full month as usual (this is standard practice as the closure of the account is not definite until it actually happens). They will refund the overpayment in a week or so. If you paid by direct debit do not close that with your bank as Plusnet will repay via that route. If the direct debit is closed things get more awkward.

I cancelled the direct debit to ensure a second incorrect payment did not go out.
I can give you my banking details again if you no longer have them? Or perhaps you can send a cheque in the post?

I am just a customer of Plusnet as you were and so I do not think that you should give me your banking details!! I was merely advising that the normal way to repay any amount owed to you by Plusnet would have been via the direct debit.
I suspect that Plusnet will send any refund by cheque but it would be as well if you comtacted them to check this. (A Plusnet staff member may pick up this thread and respond but they are not seen as frequently on here as they used to be).
